The eHealth Research Institute, founded in 2013 in association with Management Science and Engineering (national key disciplines) at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), has been one of the pioneers in conducting research on digital healthcare both domestically and internationally. Professor Doug Vogel, former president of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) , serves as the honorary director and Professor Xitong Guo, a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, serves as the director.
Embracing a Chinese context, the eHealth Research Institute brings together internationally renowned scholars in the field of e-health and has formed a well-known international research team in the field of information system, with the characteristic of Chinese research background + international top scholars + research team in HIT. As of 2023, there are 4 postdocs, 28 doctoral students, 19 master students and more than 30 undergraduate students. The student members come from well-known universities at home and abroad and have published more than 100 academic papers. The eHealth Research Institute has presided over the project of Major Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Key Program of NSFC, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University and the Xiangjiang Scholars Program. Focused on the development of Chinese healthcare, our institute conducts comprehensive cooperation with leading universities, international health organizations, governments, hospitals and industrial companies from many countries and regions. We are dedicated to proposing and solving scientific problems of health management in the context of information interconnection, realizing the industrialization of research outcomes, and establishing a digital healthcare system suitable for Chinese national conditions.
