On July 10, 2025, Teacher Bruce Tong from the University of Manchester, who also serves as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Operations Management (JOM), will be invited to visit the Science Park of our university and deliver an academic lecture titled “Budget Disclosure in Crowdfunding: Information Asymmetry and Cost Transparency”. Teacher Bruce Tong has published numerous papers in top management journals of UTD24, such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (MSOM) and Journal of Operations Management (JOM), with his research focusing on the field of empirical research and analysis.

Teacher Bruce Tong is proficient in analyzing information transmission issues in market mechanisms by combining data with causal identification. This lecture focuses on the crowdfunding scenario, providing a scientific basis for the rule design of crowdfunding platforms and the information disclosure strategies of project parties, and possesses both academic innovation and practical guiding value.

At the end of the lecture, Teacher Bruce Tong provided academic guidance to doctoral students of the Institute of Electronic Health, focusing particularly on experiences in submitting manuscripts to top journals, as well as issues related to doctoral career planning and time management. The students benefited greatly from this guidance.
