On July 11, 2025, Associate Professor Dan Dan Qiao from the National University of Singapore delivered an invited lecture at our University Science Park, titled “AI and Jobs: Has the Inflection Point Arrived? Evidence from an Online Labor Platform.” Professor Qiao has published extensively in leading UTD24 journals, including MIS Quarterly and Management Science. Her research focuses on empirical management studies, particularly the impact of digital technologies on labor markets and the dynamics of online labor platforms. In the lecture, she presented large-scale empirical evidence on how the diffusion of digital tools reshapes job demand, wage structures, and skill matching, offering new insights into whether AI has reached a turning point in its relationship with employment. The event concluded with Professor Qiao sharing valuable advice with PhD students from the Institute of eHealth on publishing in top journals and managing doctoral research, which was highly appreciated by participants. |
