Notification of Visiting Lecture by Professor Wang Shouyang, Fellow of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World and the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences
发布时间:2025-07-13

On July 13, 2025, Professor Shouyang Wang—Fellow of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), Fellow of the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences, Distinguished Researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education, National Distinguished Young Talent, and Director of the Research Center on Foresight Science—visited the University Science Park to deliver an academic lecture. Professor Wang’s research focuses on decision theory, financial systems engineering, logistics and supply chain management, game and conflict analysis, and economic analysis and forecasting. He has published over 480 papers in Nature, Science, and other leading international journals.

In his lecture, Professor Wang drew inspiration from the scientific thought of Qian Xuesen and introduced an innovative “system problem-solving formula”—the “Three-Reason Perspective” (物理 × 事理 × 人理). This framework emphasizes quantifying observable phenomena through the “physical” perspective, clarifying structures and mechanisms through “logical reasoning,” and uncovering the underlying behavioral drivers through “human reasoning.” Only by integrating these three dimensions can the complexity of economic and management challenges be effectively addressed.

These contributions not only advance theoretical innovation in management science in China but also bridge the gap between laboratory research, industry application, and government decision-making.
