On the morning of 10 July 2025, Jiaxing Shen, Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence at School of Data Science, Lingnan University, was invited to visit our campus to give a lecture entitled Scalable Taxi Demand Prediction for Scalability. Professor Shen is currently the Director of the Master of Science in Data Science Programm and the Coordinator of the Generative Artificial Intelligence General Studies Programm at Lingnan University. His research focuses on human dynamics empowered by AI and IoT, involving big data mining, mobile computing and generative AI, and he has published a number of high-level papers in international refereed journals, such as TOIS, TMC, TKDE, and so on.

In the report, Prof. Shen systematically introduced two innovative spatio-temporal deep learning frameworks, STZIP-GNN and SSTZIP-GNN, which demonstrate superior performance in taxi demand prediction by introducing a scalable adaptive architecture and neural network automated modelling mechanism, and can better cope with large-scale data and complex urban travelling patterns. The research results not only provide theoretical support for ITS, but also provide important practical insights for urban travel management, intelligent transport and sustainable transport development. At the end of the lecture, Prof Shen also provided detailed answers and guidance to students' research questions and academic planning.
