Professor Fujian Song from the University of East Anglia Delivers Lectures at HIT |

On 19 May 2025 and 22 May 2025, Professor Fujian Song from the Department of Public Health, University of East Anglia, UK, was invited to give two lectures in 2H425 Science Park of the University of East Anglia, with the topics of Research Issues, Methods, Data Sources and Publication of Results in Public Health and Introduction to Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis respectively. Professor Song is currently a Professor at the Institute of Health and Development Studies, University of East Anglia, UK, and Professor of Epidemiology at East Anglia Medical School. Since 1992, he has been engaged in research related to evidence-based medicine, health technology assessment, epidemiological methodology and Meta-analysis. He has chaired and participated in a number of research projects of the NHS and DHTA of the UK Department of Health, and has published articles in The Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, British Medical Journal, Health Technology Journal, Health Technology Assessment and Meta-analysis, as well as a series of publications on systematic reviews and meta-analysis. He has published a large number of academic results in The Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, British Medical Journal, Health Technology Assessment and other international journals. The two lectures were rich in content, which not only systematically introduced the core issues of public health research, research methodology, data sources and publication experience, but also explained the research methodology and application value of systematic review and Meta-analysis and their important role in evidence-based medicine and public health policy, which is of great significance to the Institute's students and faculty members in the field of evidence-based research and empirical analysis. At the lecture, Prof Song also answered and guided the students patiently on their research directions and problems encountered in the process of scientific research, and provided valuable suggestions for their academic development and scientific research planning. |
