On January 16, 2025, Dr. Yao Zhao, Assistant Professor at the University of Queensland Business School, visited the Institute for e-Health at the School of Economics and Management, Harbin Institute of Technology, and delivered a research talk.

During the visit, Dr. Zhao presented her recent study titled “Bridging the Divide? The Differential Impact of Information Exchange on Healthcare Professionals’ Productivity in Urban and Rural Settings.” The study examines how Healthcare Information Exchange (HIE) systems affect the productivity of healthcare professionals in urban versus rural hospitals, using data envelopment analysis (DEA) and a difference-in-differences (DiD) approach.

In addition to the presentation, Dr. Zhao engaged in discussions with faculty and students on topics such as healthcare IT, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the digital sector, and quantitative research methodologies.
