July 2021, the Smart Health Empowered Suzhou and 5G Digital Health City Suzhou Forum was held at the Suzhou International Expo Center. With the aim of promoting high-quality development of smart health cities, nearly 500 leaders, academicians and scholars from the fields of government, industry, academia and research attended the forum. With the theme of Smart Empowerment, Health Sharing, the forum focused on digital health perception and smart health city construction, and deeply explored how to promote the innovative application of digital technology in the field of health with the collaboration of government, enterprises and society, as well as jointly building a health perception smart city ecological system to share the digital health life of all people.

During the forum, Digital Basic Medical Health Professional Committee of China Medical Equipment Association was established. Academician Dongfeng Gu was appointed as the chairman of the committee. Professor Xitong Guo, the executive director of our institute, was appointed as an important member. The committee's duties were defined. The committee will empower new technology research in digital health services for home, street and grassroots medical institutions, gradually establish basic digital medical health standards, and steadily improve resident digital health sense  acquisition.
