The eHealth Research Institute was founded in 2013 and is integral to the Harbin Institute of Technology. In the beginning, the Institute has only two teachers, one doctoral student and four master's students. So far, it now has 57 team members, including Doug Vogel, Guo Xitong, Ju Xiaofeng and Zhao Xinli as Professors, Assistant Professor Gregory R. Heim (part-time tutor), Lecturer Wu Tianshi, 2 visiting scholars, 4 visiting researchers (enterprise), 2 post-doctoral students, 27 doctoral students and 16 masters students. The eHealth Research Institute has always adhered to theory and practice research driven by China's national conditions, using a multi-disciplinary, multi-method research team. The resulting research has received widespread attention in the fields of information systems as well as international medical and health.
Since 2013, more than 100 academic papers have been published by researchers and doctoral students of the eHealth Research Institute, including MISQ, ISR,JMIS, JAIS,EJIS, I&M, ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems (ACM TMIS), DSS, IJEC, ECRA, Electronic Markets (EM), ITD, JMIR and other well-known international academic journals. The institute undertakes research projects including key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, outstanding youth science fund projects, 4 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 3 Youth Science Fund projects as well as talents of the Ministry of Education in the new century and Xiangjiang Scholars Fund.
