Professor Giri Kumar Tayi has visited eHealth Research Institute from Jun 28 to Jul 2. Professor Giri Kumar Tayi received his doctorate degree in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. in 1982. He is now teaching at Business School of the New York State University, and his research interest mainly in data mining, e-commerce and market, supply chain modeling. Since 2015, he has been the senior editor of ISR, which is one of the leading international journals in information systems. Professor Giri Kumar Tayi made a brilliant academic presentation for all members at the Institute. The title of the report was “Try-Before-You-Buy: Online Retailing Strategy with Customer Self-Mending”. Through in-depth and detailed explanation of research ideas and methods, Professor Giri Kumar Tayi inspired the members in the Institute to carry out research ideas in the field of eHealth, which gave important guiding function and reference significance for developing scientific research ideas. During his visit in HIT, professor Giri Kumar Tayi and Professor Guo Xitong, vice director of the Institute, have conducted an in-depth exchanges on scientific research and talents cultivation. In addition, professor Giri Kumar Tayi had talks with the some members of eHealth Research Institute and conducted in-depth guidance for them. Professor Giri Kumar Tayi said that eHealth is a new research direction in the field of information systems, and wished eHealth Research Institute a good development. He was looking forward to further collaboration with eHealth Research Institute. |
