On October 26-28 2016, eHealth research institute members attended the workshop on “Wellness in the Internet age” jointly organized by Monash University (Australia) and Harbin Institute of Technology in association with a MOU between the two institutions. The workshop was held at the Suzhou campus facilities of Southeast University and Monash University. The workshop focused on how modern technology influences human beings’ wellness in the Internet age and how to achieve a smart health ecosystem design from a socio-technical perspective.

Four main key themes were discussed at the workshop: citizen-centered health sensitivity, health behavioral impact, information and technology infrastructures, and management structure. The workshop has become a starting point for viable collaboration to address a broad set of technological and societal issues. Seed funding for initial “proof of concept” research to establish the basis for further substantive funding will be provided by Monash University.
