Doctor Yulin Fang was invited to eHealth Research Institute (eHRI) to exchange ideas with professors and students on September 26, 2014. Yulin Fang shared his viewpoint on research design, research methodology and literature review. He also gave a presentation on helping sellers enhance their competitiveness through e-marketplace platform-based functions. Drawing on competitive repertoire pers pective and signaling theory, they posit that 2-marketing sellers could improve sales performances. They used observations of sellers in Taobao to test their hypotheses. Implications for practice and research and suggestions for future research on improving sellers’ competitiveness are discussed. During the 3-day visiting, an in-depth discussion of the existing research was made and Doctor Yulin Fang delivered his opinions.
